Thank you LX & Beyond and Modern Mopar Community!

We wanted to say thank you to everyone that made the trip out to Quaker City Motorsports Park in Salem, Ohio this year for the 2011 LX & Beyond Nationals and making it a good weekend. We look forward to seeing everyone next year as the event celebrates its 5th year anniversary!!!

There are many people to thank this year, first starting off with our sponsors because the event simply could not happen without them: PARAMOUNT PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS, SHOPHEMI.COM, TWIN TURBO CREATIONS, MR. NORM’S GARAGE, OST DYNO, BFNY PERFORMANCE, BILLET TECHNOLOGY, ADVANCED AUTOMOTIVE CONCEPTS, DIABLOSPORT, CORSA PERFORMANCE EXHAUST, FIXER MOTORSPORTS, BORLA EXHAUST, DYNAMIC GROUNDING SYSTEMS, SPEED RATED MOTORSPORTS, JINA’S EMBROIDERY, LEWIS PERFORMANCE MACHINE, NITROUS OUTLET, CRANK THIS! PERFORMANCE, HIGH HORSE PERFORMANCE, LEG MAKER INTAKES, DYNO TUNED PERFORMANCE, RPM ROLLBARS, MOE’S PERFORMANCE, MODERN MUSCLE PERFORMANCE, SUMMIT RACING EQUIPMENT, SPARKPLUGS.COM, MEGUIAR’S CAR CARE PRODUCTS, ROCK AUTO.COM, AFTERHOURS MOPAR PERFORMANCE, BIG AL, COLONEL AND HALF FAST PERFORMANCE.

I would like to personally thank the entire MODERN STREET HEMI SHOOTOUT SERIES Team (Wendy Robertson, Stell Savarino, Dan Van Horn) for all of their hard work putting together the racing portion of the LX&B this year as well as the work they did this season at ALL series locations. These folks stepped up for the ENTIRE LX-community and put together the BEST LX/LC/JeepSRT-focused racing series that LX&B or anybody else has ever seen. If you liked the racing experience this year, then sound off and let them know. These individuals are the ones to thank for the quality racing and racing locations. I hope we are able to partner together again and have them back next year. Do not miss the finale of the Modern Street Hemi Shootout Series this fall at Atco Raceway.

Next, I would like to thank all our veteran team members that are too numerous to name one-by-one: WHATSNEWSNX DIGITAL, F4 CHALLENGE, CENTRAL OHIO LX CLUB and BUCKEYE LX CLUB. These folks do all the behind the scenes stuff that you don’t see and some of the random weekend stuff you do see. Plain and simple, these guys and gals make my job easier and allow me to do more.

Last but definitely not least, I would like to thank the entire SRT Team and Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/Ram Trucks; the Engineers, DriveSRT.com and RedlineDodge.com for their support of the event. It is truly a privilege to have the opportunity to meet, work with and additional support of these groups. If you didn’t make it out here this year you missed a very unique opportunity.

Next year will be the 5th Anniversary of the LX & Beyond Nationals (can you believe it?) so you know that we are planning something BIG. Normally this is where we say that we will use the remainder of the month to wrap up details for this year, and then take August off to recuperate and get back to planning on September 1st. Not this time, the wrap-up is underway and the planning has already begun for next year so go ahead and circle your calendars for July 21-22, 2012, the countdown begins NOW.

Sincerely,

Anthony Carter

This past weekend, hundreds of late-model musclecar fanatics rolled into Quaker City Motorsports Park for the annual LX & Beyond Nationals. The action was hot as many competitors stepped up their game over during the off-season and found more power in their GEN III ® engine combinations.  Our friends over at brought down a 2012 8 (along with its Chrysler and Jeep 8 cousins) for all of us to drool over. At night, the participants and some of the Engineers hung out in the parking lot of the host hotel for some casual tech talks and bench racing. If you missed this year’s event, fear not, Redline Dodge captured all the action so check out the RLD photo gallery along with the LX & Beyond Facebook photo album link below!

What do you call the largest gathering of modern Dodge and musclecars in the Midwest? The annual LX & Beyond Nationals, that’s what. This weekend, hundreds of these late-model cruisers, street machines and racers will descend on Quaker City Motorsports Park located just outside the sleeping hamlet of Salem, Ohio for a weekend of high-octane . LX and LC enthusiasts from all over will bring their rides for some quarter-mile blasts down the track. Event organizer and LX fanatic, Anthony Carter, started this annual pilgrimage back in 2007 as an effort to reach out and network with other enthusiasts looking to make their modern Chargers, Challengers, Magnums (along with Chrysler 300’s and Jeep® Grand Cherokee SRT8s) go faster and look hotter.  Initially a grassroots effort, it began life as a one-day gathering of internet forum members for the LX-platform and SRT enthusiasts. Like all great things, the event began to get more traction every year. With the introduction of the in 2008, things really shifted into high-gear. Soon enthusiasts from all over the US and Canada began attending the event. Along with drag racing, there is a “Show & Shine” competition, manufacturer’s midway, swap meet and other special events throughout the weekend.  The 2011 LX & Beyond Nationals will officially kick-off tomorrow night (July 15th) with their traditional Friday night A&W “Cruise-In” Boardman, Ohio . So if you’re looking to race your late-model Challenger or , or just want to see all the latest go fast goodies and personalization accessories to dress up your ride, set your NAV unit and step on it!

New York Auto Show Recap: Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, SRT, Mopar

by Anthony Carter

We would once again like to thank our friends at DriveSRT and Chrysler Group LLC for the invitation to be a part of the “Press Access Event” of the 2011 New York International Auto Show. As I walked down to the corner of 12th Avenue and West 34th Street on my way to the Javits Center in New York City, I could see and feel the Chrysler family presence, from the Dodge “Never Neutral” billboards to the Jeep “Off-Road Driving Experience” outside. There were more banners inside showing off the Ram Truck and Jeep Brands inside the Javits Center as well. Putting it mildly, it made you feel proud to be a Mopar enthusiast.

After checking-in and getting our credentials the fun really began. I was greeted in the lobby by the Fast Five Charger display, which included a 2011 Dodge Charger straight from the movie set of the Fast 5 film scheduled to hit theaters on April 29. This is the fifth installment of the “Fast and Furious” franchise, which is known to feature hot cars and some intense racing action. We all know that, “Car Chases Make Movies Better.” Without a doubt, I am looking forward to seeing this one in action in the movie.

Before the unveiling of the latest member of the Jeep family I made my way down to the Jeep display which showcased the many awards and accolades that the Jeep Grand Cherokee and many other Jeep Brand vehicles have received over the past year. Also, I spotted a vehicle that has been very popular in the video gaming world, the Call of Duty: Black Ops Jeep Wrangler. Complete with exhaust snorkel and front bumper wench.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8:

Next on the agenda for the day, was the Chrysler Group LLC press conference. Rumors had been swirling for months and even hours prior to the official press conference that we would finally lay eyes on the 2012 Chrysler 300C SRT8. What we did not know is that there were also two other packages that would flank the SRT8 in the debut, the Chrysler 300 Executive and Chrysler 300 S. All three vehicles with very unique attitudes and styles.

2012 Chrysler 300 Executive Series:

2012 Chrysler 300C SRT8:

2012 Chrysler 300 S-Series: featuring the world’s first Beats by Dr. Dre Automotive Sound System.
