Chrysler Brand Party and Tour of the Walter P. Chrysler Museum

We were honored to be part of the invite list for the exclusive LXForums member party held at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum during Woodward Dream Cruise Week. The Chrysler Brand took this opportunity to thank the forum that has been the most influential in promoting the LX-platform (and LC-platform) cars and culture since their introduction back in 2005.

There were over 100 vehicles and members in attendance from all over the midwest and eastcoast to include Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, New York and some even flew in from Florida. Chrysler executives were on-hand and stopped by throughout the evening. We also saw members of  DriveSRT.com, SRT engineers and Mopar at the event.

Attendees got a sneak peek a some new Chrysler 300 and Chrysler 200 models with unique interior and exterior options that have not been officially announced for the 2012 line-up. Also, Fatchance 2.0 and designer John Fortuno were “Imported From SoCal” to show off the latest upgrades to the custom 2011 Chrysler 300 project that started at the annual Spring Festival event in Irvine, California.

In celebration of the Dream Cruise and everything LX, the Chrysler Brand is hosting an exclusive LX Forum member party on Tuesday 8/16/11 from 6-10 pm at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum. On hand will be some new 2012 (not yet on sale) 300 models, and John Fortuno’s Fatchance 2.0 with some new major upgrades. We will be feasting on a gourmet burger and hot dog bar with all the fixings! Plus, you will have full access to the museum to check out all the antique, custom and concept vehicles. Space is limited so RSVP to this post now to reserve your spot. Party is open to Forum members only.

2011 LX & Beyond Nationals: T-Shirt Car Submissions

We are putting together t-shirts for the 2011 LX & BEYOND NATIONALS which will once again be designed by the top notch crew at Excel Sportswear. Starting today thru February 17, we would like to extend the opportunity for any (LX/LC/LD or SRT) attending the event this year to have their ride featured on the Official 2011 Event T-Shirt. Check out the entries from the previous 3 years here.

We will need the following by the deadline:

  • 3 High Resolution pics (side profile, 3/4 profile, front profile) taken with a digital camera
  • Hood/trunk should be closed, but doors can be open (or raised)
  • Pics can be parked, burnouts, etc. Give us the BEST pic of your ride

Chris Dufresne Has The Baddest HEMI Magnum In All The Land…

Chris Dufresne, or HEMI~C~ as he is known to his fellow LXForums.com compatriots, knows how to make some serious horsepower with a boosted HEMI powerplant. After previously winning the 2009 LX and Beyond Nationals in OH by running consistent low 10 second 1/4 miles with a Paxton Supercharger and Nitrous in his 2006 Magnum, Chris made the switch to the Vortech V-7 YSi-Trim and set out to break some records.

First, Chris slapped his street tires back on the front to help conceal the power potential under the hood and got his Magnum onto the Speed Channel show Pass Time, where contestants attempt to guess what they think a car will run in the 1/4 mile after each asking 1 question, and the closest to being correct wins cash. Well, needless to say Chris’ HEMI took them all by surprise, earning the title “Stupid Nasty” from the show’s announcers as Chris rocketed down the strip to a 10.07 @ 133.74.

Then Chris got down to business, installing a new set of heavily worked Performance Werks Racing cylinder heads with Ferrara valves, PAC dual springs, Ti retainers, and ceramic coatings on valve faces/chambers. He also sourced a set of modified fuel injectors from Five O Motorsports, and a new custom tune from Mike Hess. The results were “pure magic” according to Chris, as he proceeded to run in the 9′s without the nitrous.

After making a few additional adjustments, Chris headed to the dyno – 922RWHP/756RWTQ – 93Octane / Street tune / .5 KR

Chris’ Magnum surprises even the track announcer with its incredible 1/4 mile performance…

What’s next for Chris and the Baddest HEMI Magnum around? Dialing the car in with the nitrous on the new setup and hopefully watch the records fall…
